Sri Lanka is an island nation south of India in the Indian ocean. Located in the Indian ocean just south of India, Sri Lanka is a famous for it's natural beauty. Sri Lanka has stunning beaches all along it's coastline, great wildlife and biodiversity and a cultural heritage dating back several millennia. Most of Sri Lanka is ringed by (almost endless) sandy beaches and small irregular lagoons. Since Sri Lanka is a tropical country, you can expect the rain any time of the year in different parts of Sri Lanka. However, the two major rainy seasons are south-west monsoon (May to July) which predominantly affects the west and south coast of Sri Lanka and North -East monsoon (October to January) predominantly affecting east coast.
